Holiday Magic in Historic Charleston

December 6 – December 31, 2014

The City of Charleston celebrates the holiday season this December with Holiday Magic in Historic Charleston, offering FREE, family-friendly activities, performances and decorations that capture the spirit of the season for everyone in the community. We hope that you will join us to make this year especially festive!

Schedule of Festivities:

Saturday, December 6th we kickoff the holiday season with the opening of the Holiday Market from 9:00am to 4:00pm in Marion Square followed by the Official Tree Lighting Ceremony from 4:30pm to 6:00pm, also located in the Marion Square.

Sunday, December 7th come downtown for the 34th Annual City of Charleston Holiday Parade. The parade is from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and begins at Colonial Lake, proceeds up Broad Street, down King Street, concluding at Marion Square.

Friday, December 12th & 19th Join us in Marion Square, Visit with Santa and Ms. Claus, enjoy live entertainment provided by community groups and enjoy the decorations and fun activities.

Saturday, December 13th head to the waterfront of the Charleston Harbor for the Holiday Parade of Boats starting at 5:30pm and enjoy a variety of boats decorated with lights and decorations.

Sunday, December 21st following the last Holiday Market, you can enjoy Chanukah in the Square from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Enjoy free food and live entertainment.

Friday, December 26th join us in Marion Square for the lighting of the first candle of the Kwanzaa Kinari.

Wednesday, December 31st ring in the New Year at Happy New Year, Charleston! in Marion Square from 4:00pm to 10:00pm, an admission-free, non-alcoholic, family-friendly celebration of the arts.
